Kolaborasi Dinamis: Jurusan Kimia dan Himpunan Jurusan Kimia FST UIN Alauddin Makassar Sukses Mengadakan PBAK 2024

Gowa, September 4, 2024-The Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Alauddin Makassar recently held PBAK (Introduction to Academic and Student Culture) for new students of the 2024/2025 academic year. This event is designed to help new students adapt to academic and social life on campus.

PBAK involves the Chemistry Department Student Association (HMJ Kimia) as the main committee. This step was taken to utilize the experience and knowledge of senior students in providing more relevant and personal guidance to new students.

PBAK activities include a series of activities, namely:

Academic Orientation: New students are introduced to the academic community of the Chemistry Department, the Chemistry Department curriculum, and the facilities and services available at the Faculty of Science and Technology.

Interactive Sessions: Discussions and workshops led by Chemistry Student Association members on campus life, academic success tips, and laboratory skills.

Laboratory Introduction: A visit to the laboratory to become familiar with the equipment and procedures that will be used in chemistry practicals.

Social Events: Activities aimed at building bonds between freshmen and seniors, including group games and casual discussions.

The Head of HMJ Chemistry, Nabil Fahmi, said, "New students are expected to be able to adapt quickly to the campus environment, especially the chemistry department environment, to know academic values, and to build positive social networks. In addition, they are also expected to be able to develop a critical attitude, responsibility and a high collaborative spirit in undergoing the lecture period.."

Head of the Chemistry Department, Mrs. Ummi Zahra, S.Si., M.Si., expressed her appreciation for the involvement of the Chemistry Student Association. “The Chemistry Student Association’s participation in PBAK is a great example of how senior students can contribute to supporting the success of new students. We believe that their experience will be invaluable.”

It is hoped that PBAK will help new students adapt to the academic and social environment, and start their journey in the academic world with more confidence and readiness.
